The Creation Station Blog Hop!

Creation Station Header-001

Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to share the first Creation Station Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that have joined together to bring you some inspiration from Stampin’ Up!’s amazing products. On the first and third Sunday of each month, we will each feature a couple of products from the current catalogs so be sure to hop on through to all the other blogs!

One of the products selected for this round is the stamp set Geometrical from the Occasions catalog. The set contains 12 trendy stamps and is $29.95 for wood mount and $21.95 for clear mount.

133161GI wanted to share some fun examples for you, but problem was I don’t own this set! So my solution was to turn to MDS! Did you know that most of Stampin’ Up!’s stamp sets are available in digital form? This is so great because each stamp is just like a piece of clip art and even if you do not own MDS (Stampin’ Up!’s software) you can use the stamps in any program!

When I saw the arrow, I immediately thought of a funky and fun background.  Here is a helpful tip when using MDS: Line up the arrows in one line and select all of the arrows and then right click and say “Group”. This will create one stamp of a line of arrows! What a time saver! Now you can easily line them up to create a fun background! I used the colors Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Lucky Limeaid (retired).  A simple punch and sentiment keep the card clean and simple.

For my other project, I decided to use several elements from the digital download. I used the sentiment and then colored it with Gumball Green and Melon Mambo. I added a couple hexagons and resized them to different sizes. I also added an Smoky Slate ink splatter. I didn’t want the ink splatter to interfere with the words so I used a circle punch and colored it white and then layered it behind the words, but in front of the ink splatter. Wa-la!

To create a bit of dimension to the card, I added a couple Candy Dots – my fav!

  2. Kallan, your arrow background has inspired me! Love it when something ‘clicks’ and you have to go to your studio to create! So happy to be on this blog hop journey with you girl! =)

  3. Kallan, I can’t believe you made your projects with MDS! They’re amazing – I never would’ve guessed they weren’t stamped. Love those Candy Dots, too! Thanks so much for sharing; I’m looking forward to our next Hop!

  4. I really liked your projects. I never knew about “group” on MDS. I will have to try that for sure. I need to play with my MDS more often (and will when I get a new laptop as the current one freezes constantly) Thank you for sharing your projects. I’m a fellow demonstrator, please feel free to visit my blog too!
