Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pennants

Sorry it has been a while since I last shared a project. But, the other night I did have a stampin’ night and we made a couple cards. I wanted to share one with you today. I love the look of Whisper White Craft Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock so I grabbed the Chevron background stamp. Next up, I embossed the sentiment from the set Perfect Pennants in white on a piece of retired Poppy Parade cardstock. Under that is a Basic Gray circle and a Coastal Cabana banner. I really like this card because it can be used as a masculine birthday card and we all know, we can always use more masculine cards!

Stampin’ Up! Embossing Fun

I have not been feeling very creative lately, but last night an idea came to me so I went with it. I used white embossing powder on a Kraft card base and punched out a large Coastal Cabana circle. On the circle, I stamped the Hey from the set Hi There in Versamark and then used black embossing powder to make it stand out. A retired black button tied with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and a Basic Gray banner completed the card! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

The Creation Station – Party Time!

Creation Station Header-001

Hey Everyone!

We are back with the Creation Station Blog Hop! This go around is the theme PARTY TIME! I created a couple projects this hop and can’t wait to show them to you!

The first card features one of my new favorite techniques…fiber paste! You can see my original post here on it. I used the polka dot mask from Stampin’ Up! and created a background with some texture by using fiber paste. I love the look of this! Next, I added a large circle with the stamp from the retired set Oh, Hello stamped in Melon Mambo. Next up, was a Hello Honey banner with a light chevron stamp on it and finally a piece of Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon.

For my next project, I created a goodie bag using the Chevron bags in the catalog. I started with a banner in some retired Gumball Green cardstock and added some washi tape to the top. I couple glimmer brads and the stamp from the set Perfect Pennants makes a cute gift bag that is perfect for any party!

Stampin’ Up! Woo Hoo!

Well we just found out that our friends are expecting an addition to their family so I wanted to create a quick and simple card to mail them. I started with a base of Coastal Cabana and stamped the Chevron background stamp on it. Next, I added a layer of Gumball Green cardstock. For the main panel, I stamped the lion from the set Fox & Friends and added the “Woo Hoo!” word bubble from the set Just Saying =) Very simple, but cute, I hope it brings a smile to their face. Also, this card is for the “Baby” challenge at Addicted to CAS. Perfect!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Word Bubble

I created this card for a very special person =) This card is for my cousin and BFF, she is the one who first introduced me to stampin’. I also must give credit where credit is due and got some inspiration for this card from Amy O’Neill’s blog. I started out with a base of Crumb Cake and added a small Whisper White layer and then then another Crumb Cake layer stamped with the Chevron background stamp. Next, I used the Word Bubble framelits and cut one out from some Melon Mambo cardstock and used the Small Heart Punch. The Happy Birthday is from the set Wishes Your Way. A couple Candy Dots finish off the card. This card is also for the challenge Seize the Birthday! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Altered Word Bubble

I had a chance to stamp tonight and I drew my inspiration from a card I saw on the Stampin’ Up! blog a while back. I also loved the colors at the challenge Color Q. I started with a base of Crumb Cake and added a layer of Coastal Cabana (substituted for Cool Caribbean). Next, I stamped the Chevron background stamp off kilter a bit in Summer Starfruit on a piece of Whisper White. Next, comes the fun part! I used a word bubble from the new framelits and I cut the piece of paper just wide enough for the paper to slide through the framelit. Using the Big Shot, just roll the framelit halfway through so it cuts just the bottom of the framelit out. Do the same thing with the top part. The Hello to you stamp comes from a previous paper pumpkin kit. I finished off the card with a Summer Starfruit button tied with some Linen Thread and black candy dot.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Teen Birthday

Hope you are having a great weekend! We finally have a bit of warmer weather today so after I get finished with this post, I think I am going to take the dog outside so she can burn off some energy. For the card today, my niece’s birthday is coming up so I wanted to create a card that would be fun and hip. I used the color challenge at Dynamic Duos since it seemed pretty girly to me! I stared out with a base of Crumb Cake, but I really tried to stick to just the two colors, Melon Mambo and Basic Black, but in the end, it just felt like it needed a bit of another neutral (which the design team says is ok =) ). I stamped the Chevron background stamp on the right side of the card in Staz On black ink and added a small strip of Basic Black cardstock. I pulled out the awesome new Just Sayin’ stamp set for the word bubble and stamped it in Melon Mambo. I little bit of bling and a couple candy dots add just enough pop. The challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks is to use bling so this card is perfect for that challenge as well! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Adorable Baby

Hope you are having a good start to the week. Sometimes it is just nice to sit down and create when you are inspired by something. Demonstrators got a sneak peak of the new Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up! which will go live on January 3, 2014 and one of the samples (well lots of the samples) caught my eye. I love the layout of the card so I decided to draw my inspiration from that. I started out with a base of Pool Party and stamped the amazing Dictionary stamp in Pool Party. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the Chevron background stamp in Summer Starfruit on the bottom portion and added a small piece of Basic Gray cardstock. I made a small Pool Party flag and added a Glimmer Brad to the center. I retired Chit Chat rub-on completes that layer. Next, up was the animals from the retired set Fox & Friends. Finally, I tied some retired Pool Party Baker’s Twine around the top and added a delicate doily to soften the card up a bit.

Stampin’ Up! Doilies

Two posts it two days, I am on a roll! But anyway, tonight I created a card for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. It is a great sketch with some great flags. I started out with a base of Pool Party and lightly sponged some Pool Party ink onto the Chevron background stamp. Next, I added a couple flags from some Silver Glimmer Paper and Smoky Slate cardstock. Next, I added a doily. When I saw the doilies in the catalog, I thought that they were something I would never use and then I started seeing lots of cards using them and I was sold. I really like how it creates a bit of softness on a card. For the tag, I used a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the set Really Good Greetings in Basic Gray. I altered the sketch just a bit by turning the small banner made from some retired DSP. I tied the tag with some Linen Thread and added a couple Candy Dots. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin Up Doily

Sketch 8-001

A little bit of inspiration….

Phew! I have not stamped in quite a few days! The fall always seems really busy between being outside, camping and other activities. It seems like it is always hard for me to get in the stampin’ groove. But, today I found some inspiration from a post on Stampin’ Up’s blog and it kinda got my wheels turning. It was kinda fun to just go where I felt the card was taking me. I started out with a base of Crumb Cake. Next, I sponged some Crumb Cake ink onto the Chevron background stamp. I then used the Hearts A Flutter framelits to cut out a small heart from some retired DSP and added a Basic Gray Candy Dot. On a Pool Party flag, I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray from the set Four You and added a piece of a doily underneath. I retired Calypso Coral brad finished off the card. Since the challenge this week is “Anything Goes” at Inkspirational , I am submitting this card there! Thanks for stopping by! It is almost Friday!
