Stampin’ Up! Shape Card for 4 Crafty Chicks

I am so excited to share my first card as a Guest Designer for the challenge blog 4 Crafty Chicks! The challenge this week is to create a “shape card” so basically anything but a rectangle or square. I will admit that I don’t think I have ever made a shape card, but that is why I love challenges because they help you think outside of the box. To make the shape of my card, I chose some Sahara Sand cardstock and I used the large scallop die and cut it out once and then turned it slightly and cut it out again to give it the unique shape.  Next, I add a layer of Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-A-Bration to bring a pop of color to the card. I then added a vellum flag and stamped the Thank You from the Cute & Curly stamp set and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I couple small flower from the Punch Pack finished off the card.

Stampin’ Up! Congratulations

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I made a card for the “wedding” challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks. I like making sort of non-traditional wedding cards with lots of color. For this card, I used a base of Coastal Cabana and rounded the edges with a circle punch. Next, I stamped the congratulations sentiment from the set Curly Cute in the same color ink. Next, I created the focal point at the top of the card. I cut a tea lace doily in half and then added a Sumer Starfruit banner. Next, I punched out a circle from some Silver Glimmer Paper and then used the heart from the Hearts A flutter framelits to cut a heart inside the circle. I backed that with a piece of Basic Gray that was stamped with a heart from the Hearts A flutter set. A bit of Linen Thread tied around the top completes the card. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Confetti

I have been feeling a bit down lately so I decided to stamp a bit to feel better. I wanted to make a happy card so I decided on a birthday one with some “confetti”. I used a base of Baked Brown Sugar and punched some holes in a piece of Whisper White with the small circle punch from the Punch Pack. Next, I punched out some circles using the 3/4″ circle punch in the colors Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo and adhered them to the back. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the set Cute & Curly. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Gift bag

My cousin is going to have a baby any day now so I created a cute little gift bag to put her present in. The colors over at the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog were perfect for this. I started out my making a lollie from Melon Mambo card stock and added a circle of vellum and Crumb Cake to the top of it. From the Cute & Curly stamp set, I pulled out the congratulations stamp and stamped it in Melon Mambo. I flagged the ends of the Whisper White card stock with my square punch to create a banner. I added a couple flagged pieces of Pretty in Pink card stock. Next, I pulled out my Hearts A Flutter framelits and punched out several hearts from some scraps of Cherry Cobbler card stock. I figured I could add a couple hearts since its looking like she might be very close to a Valentines Day baby. The bag even coordinates a bit with the card I created for her shown HERE!!

Deconstructed Sketches

Hi and Happy Christmas Eve!

Today I have a card that I created for a sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches. I started out with the base of my card in Rich Razzleberry and added a strip of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper that will be available during Sale-A-Bration. I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with the new Honeycomb embossing folder which will be available in January in the Spring Catalog. The sentiment comes from the Stampin’ Up set Cute & Curly. I finished the card off with a bit of Basic Gray Satin ribbon which is now retired and a cute Pool Party brad which will be available during Sale-A-Bration. Thanks for looking!
