Hello! Hope you are having a good weekend so far! We are expected to get anywhere between 6 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow night so I may have a lot of stamping time this weekend! We shall see! Anyway, onto the card for today. My twin brother was home for the holidays so I got to spend a lot of time with him. I had to say good-bye to him last night as he has to head back to Vanderbilt and it was pretty tough. We have definitely become a lot closer since we have gotten older. I decided to capture my feelings with a card that I plan on mailing to him today. I started out with a base of Crumb Cake and stamped the “Hello from…” stamp from the Wanderlust Photopolymer stamp set multiple times to create a background. I pulled out my retired Rough Edges Alphabet and stamped “ILLINOIS” in each box. Using the new stamp set Just Saying and the coordinating framelits, I cut out the “Miss you already” word bubble. I kept this card really simple since it is for a guy and all. There is something about this card that I just really like even though it is so simple, maybe it is the feelings behind it. Why don’t you send a card to someone that you may have been missing or just to say hello. Okay, enough sappiness! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
So I made this card for my husband. Camping season is coming to an end here since it is getting cold, but I wanted to let him know how much I enjoyed our adventures this year in our new pop-up camper and how much I can’t wait for next year. I thought the “Lets Be Adventurers” from the photopolymer stamp set Wanderlust would be a great choice for this card. I also combined it with some Epic Day DSP that has a faint map on it and some Linen Thread with a retired metal button. The sketch comes form the challenge Hand Stamped Sentiments. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Monday… =)
Hope you are having a good week so far. I was in a bit of a stampin’ rut last night so I decided to walk away and come back later. I had the new photopolymer stamp set Wanderlust laying on my desk and saw the directions stamp and thought of the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays to use at least one arrow on a card. I also went with the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday. I started out with a base of Basic Gray and rubbed some Basic Gray ink on my Honeycomb embossing folder. Rather than embossing the cardstock though, I took my brayer and rolled it on the outside of the embossing folder to transfer the ink to the cardstock without actually embossing. On the bottom of the card I layered some retired Lucky Limeaid DSP and a Pool Party banner stamped with the grungy lines from the new set Gorgeous Grunge. I made a tag and tied some retired Pool Party Baker’s Twine around the top. As I mentioned before, the directions sign comes from the set Wanderlust while the ink splatter is from Gorgeous Grunge and the setntiment is from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit. Thanks for stopping by!
I have a quick card to share with you today. I was inspired by the challenge at CAS-ual Friday’s called “Mapquest”. My brother will be moving to Nasvhille soon to attend Vanderbilt and start his PhD so I thought this challenge would be perfect. I used the Hello from..stamp from the new Photopolymer stamp set called Wanderlust by Stampin’ Up! This is my first experience with photopolymer and I love it! It is so nice to have clear stamps and this set is trendy and fresh! I started with a base of Crumb Cake and then layered a piece of Sent With Love DSP on it. I added a bit of retired ribbon and a banner in the retired color Red Riding Hood. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
