Stampin’ Up! Simply Stars Gift Bag

Today is my husband’s birthday so I decorated his gift bag with Stampin’ Up! supplies. I love doing this because I think it adds a hand made touch and really shows that you took a bit of extra time to make it special. I kept it simple starting with some a Gumball Green flag embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  Next, I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray on a circle of Pool Party. This stamp is from the 2014 Occasions catalog and will be available to order in January! I added a Basic Gray banner and stamped a couple stars from the set Simply Stars in Crushed Curry. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Just Saying!

Almost to the weekend! I made a quick card last night for the birthday challenge at Seize the Birthday. I started out with some Gumball Green Coordinations card stock and embossed it with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. I then lightly sanded the raised honeycombs. Next, I punched out a Coastal Cabana circle and stamped the ink splatter from the set Gorgeous Grunge. Next, I stamped the word bubble from the upcoming Occasions catalog in Basic Gray and punched it out using the coordinating framelit. Finally, I added a retired banner from a Simply Scrappin’ kit and a metal brad. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Hour

Hope you are having a good Saturday! This morning we went to Strut Your Mutt which is a fundraiser for homeless dogs in the area. It was a lot of fun to see all the different breeds of dogs, but I think my pup was tired out afterward. Looks pretty comfortable…right?

It was nice to be outside on such a nice day, but now it is starting to rain so I came inside and there is no better time to stamp! I have had my eye on the sketch at Seize the Sketch for a while now and am just getting to it with a couple hours left on the deadline. My friend is going on vacation to Mexico in a couple weeks for her anniversary so I thought a card would be nice. I kept this card fun and tropical by using the colors Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeaid (retired). I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana which the Chevron embossing folder and added a flag stamped with Cheers from the set Happy Hour. Using my markers, I colored the drink and layered it on a large scallop punch.

I also wanted to share my fall wreath with you. I have a basic grape vine wreath that I just switch out the accents for each theme/holiday. I bought some of the autumn berry accessories from Michael’s and tied those onto the wreath. The awesome burlap flowers are courtesy of my amazing cousin. She made a whole bunch of these for a bridal shower. She was so sweet to give me a couple and they added the perfect finish touch to the wreath. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Lots of Chevrons!

How are you today? So I kinda went overboard on the chevrons on this card, but I think it all kinda works. I wanted to create a fun and bright card for the sketch challenge at Fab Friday. For the focal point of the card, I stamped the chevron stamp (which came in a My Paper Pumpkin kit) in Crushed Curry on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I layered that on a second piece of Whisper White cardstock. I added a Rich Razzleberry button tied with some Baker’s Twine. The little Hello comes from the set Six Sided Sampler. The stamp actually says Hello My Friend, but I really only wanted it to say Hello so I inked up the whole stamp and then used my Blender Pens to remove the ink from the other part of the stamp. I couldn’t decide what to do with the background, it was like it needed something, so I ran a second layer of Coastal Cabana through the Big Shot with the Chevron embossing folder. Done! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stampin’ Up! Dictionary

So this card just kind of fell together with the scraps that I had lieing on my desk. I am using this card in 3 challenges!

SU Only – create a birthday card

Sweet Stamping – Use Kraft (crumb cake)

Monday Lunchtime Sketch – sketch which I flipped on its side

I really liked how my card the other day turned out so I used that inspiration. I started off with a base of Crumb Cake and added a layer of Summer Starfruit that I distressed with my scissors. Next I stamped the Dictionary stamp in Basic Gray and ran it though the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. I sponged some Crumb Cake ink on that. I added a small strip of Washi Tape and some Linen Twine. The sentiment comes from the retired set Essentials and is stamped in Basic Gray. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Distressed Honeycomb Embossing Folder

Hope you are having a great week so far. Last night, I sat down and created a couple cards. The one that I will share today is for the “Texture” challenge at Crafty Creations. I first started out with a base of Basic Gray and a layer of Summer Starfruit. I wanted to add some texture on my next layer so I stamped the Dictionary stamp in Basic Gray and sponged the edged of the cardstock with Crumb Cake ink. Next I ran that layer through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing folder and then sponged a bit more Crumb Cake ink on top. Next I stamped the sentiment from Vintage Verses in Basic Gray and cut it out with the Labels Framelits. From here. I added a piece of Natural Ribbon. To finish off the card, I added a strip of Washi Tape, a scrap of Bermuda Bay ribbon and a couple Candy Dots. Thanks for stopping by!

Color Q Flower

The Color Q has a great color challenge this week. I kept wanting to do something modern and graphic with it, but in the end I resorted to my plan when nothing else is working out…a flower. =) I used a Basic Gray background and layered a piece of Soft Sky that was embossed with the Sycamore Street folder from this year’s Sale-A-Bration. I tied a bit of Night of Navy ribbon around the card and added a Calypso Coral flower that was made using some retired DSP. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Chevron Scallop

Today I have a card to share with you that I created for the challenge at Fab Friday. I also used the color challenge at CAS Colors & Sketches. I first inked up my Chevron Embossing folder with some Basic Gray ink and used my Brayer to transfer the ink to the cardstock. Next, I punched out a large scallop from Melon Mambo cardstock and stamped the Just Because in Basic Gray. I added a bit of Washi Tape and a Old Olive Button to complete the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ UP! Directions Tag

Hi there!

Hope you are having a good week so far. I was in a bit of a stampin’ rut last night so I decided to walk away and come back later. I had the new photopolymer stamp set Wanderlust laying on my desk and saw the directions stamp and thought of the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays to use at least one arrow on a card. I also went with the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday. I started out with a base of Basic Gray and rubbed some Basic Gray ink on my Honeycomb embossing folder. Rather than embossing the cardstock though, I took my brayer and rolled it on the outside of the embossing folder to transfer the ink to the cardstock without actually embossing. On the bottom of the card I layered some retired Lucky Limeaid DSP and a Pool Party banner stamped with the grungy lines from the new set Gorgeous Grunge. I made a tag and tied some retired Pool Party Baker’s Twine around the top.  As I mentioned before, the directions sign comes from the set Wanderlust while the ink splatter is from Gorgeous Grunge and the setntiment is from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Posie

Hope you are having a good weekend so far! For this card, I combined two challenges. I used the sketch from Fusion and the color combo at ColorQ. I have to tell you, I am in loooove with the color combination!! I thought I may have a piece of Orchid Opulence in my retired colors stash and luckily I found one piece! This color was retired around the time when I first started stamping so I never really used it much, but paired with these other colors, it just pops! So I used a base of Basic Gray and embossed another layer of Basic Gray with the Mosaic Embossing Folder. I layered a Orchid Opulence banner and then a piece of Summer Starfruit on top of a piece of Very Vanilla. I quickly made a Pop Up Posie from the retired kit and stamped the sentiment from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. Thanks for stopping by!
