Travel Binder using My Digital Studio

So I have a project I created using My Digital Studio (MDS). I use MDS every now and then when I want to create a cute digital page. So it is no surprise that I am anxiously awaiting our vacation and while it is a couple months away, I cannot help but plan for it. I am one of those people that research like crazy! It is kind of a problem. Well when we go camping/hiking I always have tons of brochures and trail maps that I printed out so that we know what activities are around that we can do. Usually, I just have loose papers and they get scattered all over the truck and then they end up getting left in the truck even after we get back. So to make all my notes a little bit more organized, I created a travel binder. I got this idea from another blog called All Those Details so be sure to check out her post as well.

For the front cover, I used the Go Everywhere Framables digital download from Stampin’ Up! and recolored the image using Basic Gray, Gumball Green and the background is Pool Party. What is great about Stampin’ Up!’s digital downloads is that you do not have to have MDS to use them!! You can download them and it is just like a piece of clip art!

Trip planner

My next page is Campground Details and I made the background of this page Pool Party as well and created a couple white boxes with rounded corners. I tend to use the Drop Shadow technique on all of the layers to give it a less flat feel. The font I am using is called Throw My Hands Up In The Air and it is available from DaFont. The cute little trees come from the digital download called Outdoor Exploration Kit.

The final pages I created were just a page for Trip Notes. Since I have another blog about camping and hiking found HERE I like to take notes about things that I want to remember to blog about.

Stampin’ Up! Mustache Birthday Invitation

Today I have an invitation for a little boy’s 1st birthday to share with you. The mustache trend is super popular right now so we paired that with the ever popular chevron design. I created this invitation using Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio and the Many Mustaches download. Thanks for stopping by!

My Digital Studio

Today, I have another My Digital Studio scrapbook page. It’s no secret, I love banners/flags so of course, I had to add a couple to this page. I like to include the supply lists after the post because I find that when I see someone elses project and I always want to know how did they do that. It’s helpful to look though the supply lists so that you can see what punches or what stamps were used.

My Digital Studio – Burgess Falls

Today I wanted to share another digital scrapbook page I created. I created this page for our trip to Burgess Falls. If you are ever near Nashville, Tennessee and feel like taking a short day trip, this is the place to go! There is three amazing waterfalls on a short hike and the last one is spectacular (see below!) The colors I chose for this page are Basic Gray and Pool Party and kept the page fun and simple with the chevron patterns.

Stampin’ Up! Bride & Groom Wedding Card

I was super excited to create last night since I got my order of new Spring Catalog and Sale-a-bration goodies! I started with a base layer of Baja Breeze cut to 7.5″ by 7.5″ and scored it in half. I kept wanting to use some First Edition DSP, but I do not have any, but I remembered it is included with My Digital Studio 2 so I printed out a sheet from MDS and made a rosette and then layered a circle of vellum and a heart from the glitter paper.  The heart stamps are from a new set available in the Spring Catalog which debuts January 3 called Hearts A Flutter. The sentiment comes from the set Sweet Essentials. I even made a little matching belly band to go around a gift card. The challenge over at CASology was “Sparkle” and while I don’t have a lot of sparkle on this card, I think the simple heart is just enough. Thanks for looking!

Going Digital….

So I took the plunge! With Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio 2 (MDS) being 50% off during the online extravaganza, I did it. I bought MDS! While I have used Stampin’ Up!’s digital content before in other programs, I am so glad that I bought MDS. It was at such a great price and it is even more amazing that it came with so much content! For my first project, I decided to create a book that has all the places that we have been. My husband and I and our rat terrier go hiking to a lot of different places and I wanted to be able to capture and remember those places. There are so many times where we are like…where was that neat place we went? So I decided on a digital scrapbook so that I can continue to use the stamp sets and products I love, just in digital form! So while I am no pro at MDS and am learning every day, I will share with you some of the pages that I have created.

Tractor Birthday

I recently created these cute tractor birthday invitations for my friend. They were having a John Deere birthday and wanted some invitations to match. I downloaded the tractor image from Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio files from the set Barnyard Buddies. I really want to buy the My Digital Studio software, but I have not yet, so instead I just download the images and use them in other programs such as Microsoft Publisher. I found that it is a great way to use Stampin’ Up! images since I have not purchased MDS yet. For the cardstock I used Garden Green and Summer Sun (retired). Thanks for looking!
