Stampin’ Up! Chalkboard Birthday

Hi!

So I have not created a birthday card in a while and my second cousin is turning one in a little while so I decided to make him a card! The theme is chalkboard and is going to be so cute so I stuck with that as my basic idea. I started out with a base of Bermuda Bay and added a layer of Whisper White with a Basic Black layer on top. To create the chalkboard effect, I drew a border around the layer with a white colored pencil and sponged a bit of Whisper White Craft Ink onto the Basic Black. Next, I added a couple banners in the colors Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango and Bermuda Bay and a large metal button (retired) tied with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the retired set Essentials in Craft Ink. SInce this is a birthday card, I will be linking up to the Seize the Birthday challenge where Anything Goes! Thanks for stopping by!photo(1)

Stampin’ Up! Dictionary

Hello!

So this card just kind of fell together with the scraps that I had lieing on my desk. I am using this card in 3 challenges!

SU Only – create a birthday card

Sweet Stamping – Use Kraft (crumb cake)

Monday Lunchtime Sketch – sketch which I flipped on its side

I really liked how my card the other day turned out so I used that inspiration. I started off with a base of Crumb Cake and added a layer of Summer Starfruit that I distressed with my scissors. Next I stamped the Dictionary stamp in Basic Gray and ran it though the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. I sponged some Crumb Cake ink on that. I added a small strip of Washi Tape and some Linen Twine. The sentiment comes from the retired set Essentials and is stamped in Basic Gray. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Sponged Lines

Hello!

Have you seen the new sketch challenge? Seize the Birthday has created a spin-off called Seize the Sketch! The first sketch is a great one. I first layered Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray. To create the lines, I took some Post-It Notes and stuck them on leaving a small gap. I then pulled out my Sponge Daubers and Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray and Crusher Curry ink and sponged the gap creating lines. I repeated this process until I had enough lines. The sentiment comes from the set Essentials (retired) and was punched out with a circle punch. I candy dot finishes it off. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Sieze the Sketch!

Stampin’ Up! Super Clean & Simple

Hello!

I have a super clean and simple card to share with you today. I almost did not share it because it was too simple. My idea was to create a clean card to send to my brother. I do like how the Real Red pops off the Smoky Slate. The sentiment comes from the set Trendy Trees and the square chevron is from June’s My Paper Pumpkin kit. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Honeycomb Embossing Folder

Hello!

I have a super quick and easy card for you today. I found a new sketch challenge, Dahlhouse Designs, the other day and wanted to give it a try. There is so many things that you could do with this sketch, but I decided to keep it pretty simple. I chose the new In Color Coastal Cabana as my starting point for the card and added a layer of Smoky Slate embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder backed with a layer of Old Olive. I added a piece of retired Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon with a small silver brad through it. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the retired set Essentials in Basic Gray and created a raised banner by scoring twice on each side and folding.

Stampin’ Up! Six Sided Sampler

Hello!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did. I started out with the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday and made a base of Bermuda Bay. I added a couple strips of the Epic Day Washi Tape (which I love!) and stamped some splatters from the set Gorgeous Grunge in Basic Gray. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to stamp, but the challenge at Less Is More inspired me to use the hexagons from the set Six Sided Sampler. I stamped those in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray. I just love this color combination! I added the Happy Birthday from the retired set Essentials stamped on a strip of Basic Gray. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am so glad it is Friday and I can’t wait for the weekend! I put together this quick card featuring the Gorgeous Grunge and Off the Grid stamp sets which are available in the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog! I looove these sets! So I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches this week and decided I wanted to make a masculine card. I started with a base of Basic Gray and added some retired Basic Gray DSP. The Old Olive scallops are from a previous My Paper Pumpkin kit and I backed those on a layer of Bermuda Bay. I stamped the stamps in Basic Gray, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay randomly and the sentiment comes from the set Happiest Birthday Wishes. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Stampin’ Up! Lego Card Punch Art

Hello!

So…I am not one to make punch art, but when my little cousin said he wanted a “Orange and Blue Lego” card for his birthday, I couldn’t say “no”. Lol! So I gave it a try. Since this is a masculine card, it is perfect for the challenge at Crafty Creations. I started out with a base of Crumb Cake, a layer of white and then another layer of Crumb Cake. To create the legos, I used a hole punch and then sponged the edges with the coordinating ink. I used my Two-Way Glue Pen to adhere the circles on the blocks. I created a flag from some Pool Party cardstock and stamped the Happy Birthday from the set Happiest Birthday Wishes. The stamp has more wording, but I colored just the Happy Birthday with my Basic Gray Marker. I added a Tangerine Tango button with some Pool Party Baker’s Twine.

While this isn’t normally my style, it is great to step out of the box and create something different. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Birthday

Hello!

So this is about as easy as a card can get. The challenge over at The Paper Players was to create a Clean & Simple (CAS) Masculine Birthday card. I had my May Paper Pumpkin box laying open on my desk and the Designer Series Paper caught my eye. I layered a piece of that on a layer of Pool Party and then a base of Basic Black. I added a large metal button from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit and tied it with some Pool Party Baker’s Twine. I colored part of the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set Happiest Birthday Wishes with my Basic Gray marker and flagged the end. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! My Paper Pumpkin Love Your Guts > Love You

Hello!

So I saw the sketch at Deconstructed Sketches and wanted to play along. I love anything with banners! I wanted to create a card for my husband to tell him thanks for all his hard work. I layered some Crumb Cake, Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay to try to keep the color scheme more masculine. I embossed the Bermuda Bay with the Honeycomb embossing folder and used the ink splatter stamp (from My Paper Pumpkin) in Smoky Slate to make it look a bit more rough. I am in love with the “Seriously” stamp from My Paper Pumpkin so I stamped that in Bermuda Bay. Now the other stamp that came with the “Seriously” stamp said “Love your guts” which, unfortunately I probably would not use much. So, very carefully I cut off the last part of the stamp and turned it into a stamp that now says “Love You” which I can use all the time. Perfect!! I large silver button with some Baker’s Twine finished off the card. I hope you have a great weekend and can create a bit too! Thanks for stopping by!
