Handmade Bookmark & My Favorite Author

Hello!

So I wanted to share a bookmark that I made recently.  I started out with a base of Kraft cardstock and then a layer of Basic Gray. On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Dictionary stamp (fitting for a bookmark, right?) and then the flower from the set Regarding Dahlia. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink to distress it a bit. I added a ribbon tied with some linen thread.

Well it was an exciting week last week. The highlight of my week was going to a book signing for my new favorite author, Colleen Hoover. My friend and I went together and we had a lot of fun! We got to meet Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover and Jamie McGuire (left to right). I am on the left and my amazing friend Michelle is on the right.

So I have read books by all these authors and they are amazing and so talented. They usually write new adult/college and some young adult. My favorite though is Colleen Hoover! My favorite series by her is Hopeless followed up by the book Maybe Someday and Ugly Love. I even got my copy of Ugly Love signed and we got a free tote bag!

It was a great experience and we couldn’t stop laughing. I am so glad we went! If you are looking for something to read, be sure to check out these authors!

Sewing on a Card!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I have always wanted a sewing machine because I just love the look of sewing on a card. So last Christmas, I asked my husband for a sewing machine and he got me one! I played with it a bit, but got a bit discouraged. And for some reason last night I got the urge to get it back out and give it another try. While I am not saying the sewing on this card is great, it is actually quite crooked, (but maybe that is the look I was going for =) ), I did really enjoy sewing on a card and I loved the added texture it gives! I have to give a shout out to my cousin she is so talented in sewing and kept pushing me to keep trying. I used my favorite stamps, Dictionary and Regarding Dahlia and created a bit of a vintage-y card. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sewing on a card

Hello and happy Saturday!

I do not have too much planned for this weekend so I am thinking about creating a few projects in my stampin’ room and maybe reading a book. I created this card for my last stampin’ night and it is fairly simple. I like creating a couple cards that vary in difficulty. I used the naturals paper and stamped the Dictionary background stamp on the back in crumb cake. Next, I added a layer of the new fabulous In Color Blackberry Bliss. The flower from the set Regarding Dahlia is stamped in Crushed Curry and the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss. Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for the Creation Station blog hop!

Stampin’ Up! Regarding Dahlia & Dictionary

Hi!

I hope you are having a great weekend so far! I created this card the other day. I started with a base of Kraft cardstock and added a layer of Basic Gray that I roughed up with scissors. Next, on the layer of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Dictionary background stamp in Basic Gray and then stamped the flower from Regarding Dahlia in Summer Starfruit. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake and then added a banner that was stamped with a cute new stamp set! Keep your eyes out for that new set! Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Simple Congratulations

Hello!

I love clean and simple sketch challenges so I loved the one at Fab Friday this week. My cousin just bought a house so I thought I would send her a congratulations card. I started out with a base of Pool Party and stamped the Dictionary background stamp to give it just a hint of texture. Next, I pulled out the Regarding Dahlia flower stamp and stamped it in Calypso Coral and added a flag with the congratulations from the set Sweet Essentials. I backed all of that on a piece of retired Lucky Limeaid cardstock. Half of a tea lace doily peeks out the bottom with some Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine.

Stampin’ Up! Dahlia Birthday

Hi there!

This week, Case This Sketch has a great sketch with tons of possibilities. I started out with a base of Baked Brown Sugar and added a layer of Pool Party. Next, I stamped the flower from the set Regarding Dahlia in Calypso Coral and added a Whisper White and Velum banner. The sentiment is from the set Four You. A small Pool Button ties the card together. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Simple Thank You

Hello!

I really liked the sketch challenge at The Paper Craft Crew this week since I am a fan if anything with a banner. I am in love with the In Color Baked Brown Sugar so I used that from the base of the card. I then layered Whisper White and Baked Brown Sugar that was stamped with the Dictionary background stamp. I roughed up these two layers by running my scissors across the edges. Next, I pulled out some really old DSP (which may have been from one of the very first packs I bought Lol ) and added a small piece of a doily behind it. Next, was the sentiment from the set Regarding Dahlia that was punched with the Decorative Label Punch twice to create a smaller shape. Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Dahlia

Hello!

So as I promised in a couple posts ago, I would share some big news with you. So I am happy to announce that I have been selected as a guest designer for the 4 Crafty Chicks blog! I am really excited to have this opportunity so keep an eye out for my cards during the month of March!

The current challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks is to use a bow so I created a card featuring a bow. I started out with a base of Basic Gray and added some retired Pool Party DSP. I stamped the dahlia from the set Regarding Dahlia in Summer Starfruit and added a satin ribbon bow. Be sure to play along with the challenge this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin’ Up! Banners

Hello!

Hope you are having a good week so far! Can you believe that Christmas is only a week away! I combined two challenges for this card today. I pulled the sketch from the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches…(who can resist some banners?) and the colors from Color Q. I just love the fun bright colors and I added a bit of glimmer paper because technically that’s not a color right 😉 The “Hello, You” comes from the set Regarding Dahlia and it is punched out using the Decorative Label Punch. Stampin’ Up! Dahlia Tag

Hello and happy Saturday!

Today I made a quick card for the challenge 4 Crafty Chicks “Anything Goes”. I started out with a base of Baked Brown Sugar and then added another layer of the same color stamped with the awesome Dictionary stamp set. Next, I created a tag from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the flower from the set Regarding Dahlia in Wisteria Wonder (a very neglected color in my stash). Next I added a couple banners and stamped the sentiment from the set Four You. To finish off the card, I tied the tag with some natural ribbon. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
