Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pennants Treat Bag

Hello!

I love creating a little something extra special for my friend’s birthdays. The decorated the little bag below and filled it with some candy for by BFF’s birthday. Forgive me for the random background, I snapped the picture really quick before I gave it to her LOL. I stamped the bottom of the bag with the Dotty Angles stamp set and heat embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder. The lollie was created using Basic Gray Cardstock and then I heat embossed the sentiment from the set Perfect Pennants on Coastal Cabana.

I think a little something extra can really make a person’s day so I challenge you to make something extra special for a friend’s birthday rather than just a Facebook message =)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pennants

Hello!

Sorry it has been a while since I last shared a project. But, the other night I did have a stampin’ night and we made a couple cards. I wanted to share one with you today. I love the look of Whisper White Craft Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock so I grabbed the Chevron background stamp. Next up, I embossed the sentiment from the set Perfect Pennants in white on a piece of retired Poppy Parade cardstock. Under that is a Basic Gray circle and a Coastal Cabana banner. I really like this card because it can be used as a masculine birthday card and we all know, we can always use more masculine cards!

The Creation Station – Party Time!

Creation Station Header-001

Hey Everyone!

We are back with the Creation Station Blog Hop! This go around is the theme PARTY TIME! I created a couple projects this hop and can’t wait to show them to you!

The first card features one of my new favorite techniques…fiber paste! You can see my original post here on it. I used the polka dot mask from Stampin’ Up! and created a background with some texture by using fiber paste. I love the look of this! Next, I added a large circle with the stamp from the retired set Oh, Hello stamped in Melon Mambo. Next up, was a Hello Honey banner with a light chevron stamp on it and finally a piece of Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon.

For my next project, I created a goodie bag using the Chevron bags in the catalog. I started with a banner in some retired Gumball Green cardstock and added some washi tape to the top. I couple glimmer brads and the stamp from the set Perfect Pennants makes a cute gift bag that is perfect for any party!

Stampin’ Up! With Fiber Paste

Hey!

Well it is Wednesday so that is not very exciting, but what is exciting is that I have a card to show you with a brand new technique! I saw this technique over at Amy O’Neill’s blog and had to give it a try. I went to my local craft store and looked forever for the fiber paste! I even asked a worker and he had no idea what I was talking about! But, I was persistent and found it in the paint aisle with the other texturizing products. This is what you are looking for….

I used the new dots mask which is available in the new catalog. It comes with a stripes mask as well for just $2.95! I smoothed a thin layer of the paste over the stencil using a popsicle stick. I then removed the stencil and let it dry completely. I added the panel to a Coastal Cabana base and created a tag with some of the stamps from the set Perfect Pennants. I even spritz a little Basic Gray ink on the background. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Birthday Chevron Gift Bag

Hello!

I know it has been a little while since I last posted. We were on vacation last week, doing some camping and hiking. You can check out some pictures I took at my other blog http://www.plannedspontaneityhiking.wordpress.com.

We created this little gift bag using the Chevron bags available in the Stampin’ Up! catalog at last month’s stampin’ night. I started out by cutting a couple banners using the Banners Framelits, one from some retired Gumball Green cardstock. The other stamps used on the bag come from the set Perfect Pennants. I small clothespin clips the tags onto the bag. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Project Life Everyday Adventures Card Collection

Hi There!

Hope you are having a good week so far! We are almost to the weekend! So when Stampin’ Up! introduced Project Life, I had no idea what it was…none what so ever! After a bit of research, I found out that it is a extremely popular form of scrapbooking. Rather than having to create a whole scrapbook page with a lot of elements, Project Life focuses on pages that you can just slip a card into with a bit of journaling or even stamping and then add a couple photos to it. I was really intrigued by this method of scrapbooking since it was clean and simple and most of all easy. Problem is, I don’t really have anything I wanted to scrapbook. I mean of course I could scrapbook my adorable dog, but then people might thing I am even more obsessed with her than I already am =) But I did not want to shy away from Project Life just because I didn’t want to scrapbook…so what is the next best option? Make cards!!! I ordered the Everyday Adventures Card Collection. The card kit contains 100 cards in 3 different sizes and the cards are double sided! The card collection is just $15.95. And it comes in this cute little box.

And here is a picture of a couple of my favorite patters. It is super easy to take a card, put it on a card base and add a simple accent and you can have several cards make in a matter of minutes!

So this is the card that I made for my brother using one of the Project Life cards. I chose the notebook looking paper card since  he is very studious 😉 I kept the color scheme masculine with a Crumb Cake background and Basic Gray accents. He loves clean and simple. I used the stamp from the set Perfect Pennants and altered the word bubble framelit by running it through my Big Shot twice to make it longer.

We also took a camping trip to Spring Mill State Park in Indiana a couple weekends ago. It was a great park. You can check out a full review on my other blog HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Sorbet

Hello!

I have a sneak peek to show you today! Today in the mail I got the Sweet Sorbet DSP that is going to be available during Sale-A-Bration starting January 28th! I love the colors in the DSP which include some of my favorite such as Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Sahara Sand. I started out with a base of Sahara Sand to compliment the color in the DSP layer. Do you have these doilies yet? Because if you don’t, you need them! This was one item in the catalog that I thought I would never get and now I am addicted! Even better they are super cheap! I love the greeting from the stamp set Perfect Pennants. I embossed this with white embossing powder and then smudged some white craft ink onto the black circle to create a chalkboard like effect. This just happens to be the challenge at The Paper Players. Finally, a Summer Starfruit banner and a retired Pool Party button complete the card! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you get a chance to create today!

Stampin’ Up! Chevron Hello

Hello and Merry Christmas Eve!

The sketch this week at Sketch Frenzy Friday was a great one. I kept this card simple and used a base of Coastal Cabana. I paired that with a piece of Real Red that was embossed with the Chevron embossing folder. I added the Hello banner from the new set Perfect Pennants which will be available January 3rd. Thanks for stopping by! Have a safe and happy holidays!

Hello!

The Happy Birthday stamp comes from the set Wishes Your Way and since this is a birthday card, it fits right in with the challenge at Seize the Birthday. Thanks for stopping by!
