Stampin’ Up! Stamp-a-ma-jig Tutorial

Hi there!

So who has made an awesome card and then you go to stamp the sentiment after everything is done and you stamp it crooked! Then you have to figure out if you should try and cover it with something or just leave it be. Well, I was having that problem all too often so I decided to buy the Stamp-a-ma-jig from Stampin’ Up! so hopefully this would never happen again =) The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a pretty basic, but ingenious tool. The kit comes with a black tool (not really sure what it is called) and a square sheet of plastic. To start, you first put the plastic sheet in the corner of the tool.

Next, you ink up your stamp and put it directly in the corner of the tool, stamping right on the plastic sheet.

Now you can take the plastic sheet and lay it on your cardstock that you want to stamp on. Position the stamped image exactly where you want the stamped image to be on your cardstock. Take the black tool and put in the corner of the plastic sheet like so…

Next, remove the plastic sheet without moving the black tool and ink up your stamp and place the stamp right in the corner of the black tool. Be sure to keep the edges of the stamp in the corner of the black tool.

Voila! A perfectly positioned stamp! The stamp-a-ma-jig is perfect to create patters by lining up the same stamp several times like I did on the card below. photo(14)

To line up several stamps, just take your plastic sheet with the stamped image on it and position above your first stamped image. Line up the black tool again with the corners together.

Remove the plastic sheet and stamp again!

And there you go! Perfectly placed stamps each time. This really makes creating patters a breeze and can make your stamp sets so much more versatile.

To clean the plastic sheet, I usually just wipe it with a damp towel. The Stamp-a-ma-jig is only $11.95. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have used this since I got it just over a month ago. It is so easy to use. And no more crooked images! Hooray! 1. Very thorough post. Thank you. I am definitely intrigued…although it looks like it takes some time. I am sure the more you use it the easier it gets. Plus, it is probably a lot better than wasting paper from uneven and mis-aligned stamps. Perhaps it will be in my next order.

  3. Thanks for your comment Amanda =) All the pictures do makes it look like a long process, but actually it doesn’t take very long. Basically, you just stamp, align and stamp again =)
